Challenge:
Contract Landscapes Ltd. (CLL), a civil construction company with 30 years of experience, faced challenges in providing clients with verifiable reports on work performed, including load deliveries and hours worked. The need for accurate tracking of vehicles and employee safety was essential, especially in challenging environments. Furthermore, managing maintenance and monitoring driver fatigue were critical to maintaining operational efficiency and compliance with health and safety regulations.
I’d estimate that we save around $300,000 per year just on wages alone, by being able to accurately complete timesheets. Half an hour over here and there soon adds up over the course of a year.
- Alan Marychurch, Operations Manager
Solution:
To address these challenges, CLL installed the Teletrac Navman fleet tracking system in since 2005 and this system allowed the company to generate quick and accurate reports detailing vehicle movements, arrival times, and completed loads, thereby building trust with clients. CLL tracked all 90 assets to ensure safety, enabling quick responses to breakdowns and fuel shortages. The system also facilitated better fleet maintenance management to help extend the assets’ lifespan and provided detailed insights into driver hours to prevent fatigue and ensure driver safety.
Results:
The implementation of Teletrac Navman has led to significant improvements for CLL, enhancing operational efficiency and client satisfaction.
1. Enhanced Reporting: The ability to quickly generate detailed reports on vehicle movements, arrival times, and completed loads has strengthened client relationships. Clients can easily verify work completed, leading to increased trust and transparency in operations.
2. Improved Asset Security: The GPS tracking system has enabled CLL to recover stolen vehicles, saving substantial costs associated with replacements and insurance claims. Additionally, the system has helped identify misuse of company vehicles, ensuring that all assets are used appropriately and effectively.
3. Cost Savings: By accurately tracking work hours and vehicle usage, CLL estimates annual savings of approximately $300,000 on wages alone. This efficiency reduces discrepancies in timesheets and ensures that employees are compensated accurately, while also addressing client concerns about service completion.
The Teletrac Navman system has not only improved CLL's operational capabilities but also reinforced their commitment to safety, compliance, and customer service.
